September 18th is Interim Day at CHHS. This marks the halfway point of the 1st 9 weeks. Parents/Guardians are asked to check out PowerSchool Parent Portal for up-to-date grades. CHHS will be having Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, September 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. More information will be sent out next week in regards to conferences.

Due to inclement weather, graduation practice has now been moved to the CHHS gym at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28th. Attendance at graduation practice is still required for Seniors to participate in the commencement ceremony. The commencement ceremony is still planned for 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 29th at the CHHS Athletic Field.

Congratulations to Lyric Nicholson and Jordan Grimes for continuing their athletic careers in college. Lyric will be attending @xula1925 for competition cheer and Jordan will be attending @roanokecollege for sideline cheer. We wish them all the best in the future!
Congratulations to Munif Ahmed, Andy Yang, Matthew Clark, and Ethan Greenwald for winning 1st place in the state for the year-long Stock Market Game through the Virginia Council on Economic Education.
Our staff was recently able to celebrate our staff members retiring at the end of this school year. We are thankful for the service of Mrs. Jo-Ann Moody Parham (Nursing teacher), Ms. Carol Krupp (Tech Center security desk) and Mr. Roy Parham (Auto Tech teacher). Not pictured- Mr. Mike Smielecki (Social Studies teacher) and Mr. George Holley (Tech Center custodian). We are so appreciative of the countless lives these educators have touched over their years of service. We wish them all the best in the future!
