Congratulations to the @colhts2026 Valedictorian Andy Yang and Salutatorian Jenna Ackerman.


Congratulations to our Girls’ Tennis team for their 5-4 win over York in the semifinals of Region A girls’ tennis tournament. With the win, the team has qualified for the STATE 3A tournament. The girls will face Tabb in the Regional finals.

Our 10 Seniors of the Month for the @colhts2026 were honored this evening at the Senior of the Month Banquet. In addition to be honored, each Senior selected a teacher to recognize for the impact they had on their life.

The @colhts2026 finished their last day of classes today and celebrated with their Senior Sunset. We look forward to seeing the class of 2026 walk across the stage at graduation on May 28th.

Congratulations to our 11 Nursing students (not pictured: Kendra Hoyer, Nova Laubscher, and Margaret Cathey) who passed the written and skills portions of the Nursing Aide exam. They are now Certified Nursing Aides through the Virginia Board of Nursing! Thank you to our Nursing teacher, Mrs. Rainey, for all of her hard work teaching and getting our students ready for their exam.

We honored Ms. Lee Legard and Mr. Brian Seely at our 2026 retirement banquet this evening. Ms Legard has taught Spanish at CHHS for 15 years. Mr. Seely has taught Math at CHHS for 17 years. We are thankful for all of their years of service to the students, parents, and community members of CH. We wish them all the best in their retirement!

A great opportunity to get your VHSL physical for the 2026-2027 school year. Students must be in line by 4:30 p.m. to receive a physical. All parents in grades 9-11 with an active email and/or phone number in PowerSchool Parent Portal have been sent additional information.

Congratulations to our @culinarycolonials team for placing 21st in the Nation at the National Culinary Competition! The team of Nyasia Watkins, Javere Wesson, Jayden Bell, Jeffrey Hill, and Will Montgomery impressed the judges and put CHHS and VA on the culinary map with their performance.

Congratulations to Naomi Sampson for being selected as the May CHHS Senior of the Month!

Congratulations to Andy Yang (Class of 2026) for winning the Richard Bland College Dual Enrollment Student of the Year award. Andy was selected from over 2,000 dual enrollment students.

Thursday, April 23rd is Interim Day at CHHS. This marks the halfway point of the 4th 9 weeks. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to login and check PowerSchool Parent Portal for up-to-date grades.

Congratulations to our Robotics team for their 2nd place finish at their competition this weekend. This was the team's first competition and they competed against 30 teams from across VA and Washington DC. The team also took home the Rookie All-Star trophy for their performance.

French and Dual Enrollment Spanish students visited the VA Museum of Fine Arts.

Stacie Anderson, owner/operator of @cfacolonialheights spoke to the Dual Enrollment Introduction to Business students this morning. She shared her entrepreneurial journey, the specifics of the Chick-fil-A franchise model, and personal insights on the challenges and rewards of business ownership. She also provided one of their favorite breakfast products as a treat for the class!
