In response to Executive Order 33 and VDOE guidance, we are seeking input from parents, secondary students, & staff about potential changes for our cell phone policy. We welcome your feedback to help inform our decision making. Please be on the lookout for the email with the survey link this afternoon.
The survey is available in English and in Spanish. If you need a survey in a language other than English or Spanish, please reach out to your child's ESL teacher for a translated reference survey.

Our 6th Grade Picnic this evening was a hit! Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this picnic such a wonderful event for our students, families, and staff!








Your CHMS soccer team moves to 2-1 on the season with a 6-2 victory at home against Southampton. Our next contest will be Wednesday, October 2nd at Carter G. Woodson Middle School (5:00 pm).

The CHMS soccer team falls to 1-1 on the season after a hard fought game tonight at Prince George. Come on out to watch them take on Southampton at home on Wednesday evening at 5:00 pm.


The Colonials fought hard tonight but came up short tonight against Dinwiddie Middle School. The team will be back in action next Wednesday, October 2nd at home against Carter G. Woodson.




Mark your calendars! This coming Thursday (Sept. 26th) will be the 2024 6th Grade Picnic from 4:00-5:30 pm. We will have hot dogs, chips, and drinks, along with yard games and music. We look forward to having our CHMS Family join us!

The CHMS Outdoor Club had a wonderful first hike of the year to the Appomattox River Trail this afternoon!





Please consider joining us for our Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) meeting on September 30th from 5:30-6:00 pm. Directly following this meeting, there is an interactive workshop for parents/caregivers to reclaim themselves through self-care and wellness from 6:00-7:30 pm. Future meeting dates and registration information is included below.

Attached is a photo about how to download the Hometown Ticket App and purchase tickets and season passes prior to home games. We currently have season passes available online for Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball and Soccer!


The CHMS girls basketball team falls to 0-2 on the season after a hard fought game against LPJ Middle School tonight. Thank you for coming out to support CHMS athletics!





Congratulations to the CHMS Football team on their 36-8 win over Sussex tonight! A special congratulations to Coach Hunter Spence on his 1st win as Head Coach of your Colonials!
