Happy New Year Colonials!
I hope the break has been kind to all of you. I know the time given makes me even more appreciative of my family and my school family. We are returning to school virtually for all on January 4th.
SOL testing begins on Thursday, January 14th. Teachers and students have been working diligently to make sure they are prepared. Please make sure that students are well-rested and they have eaten breakfast. Testing is a stressful time, but I want to ensure all that we will get through the testing. We always do. Half of the battle is to feel confident going into the test. Please try not to worry.
Our schedule is a little different with testing. Here are the dates in January:
Asynchronous Learning Day:
Thursday, January 14, 2021 - Reading SOL
Asynchronous Learning Day:
Wednesday, January 20, 2021 - Math SOL
Thursday, January 21, 2021 - Science SOL
Tuesday, January 26, 2021 - Reading Expedited Retakes
Wednesday, January 27, 2021 - Math & Science Expedited Retakes
Students and staff have Martin Luther King Day holiday on Monday, January 18th. Students also have off on Monday, January 28th. This day is a work day for teachers, so the high school can get ready for the second semester with a whole new term starting on Tuesday, February 2nd.
I am excited to be back! Here’s to another productive and wonderful New Year!
GO COLONIALS!
With Pride,
Kristin Janssen
