Prerequisite: Junior or Senior Year Status, 3.0 GPA
RBC Information: EDUC 200 - 3 college credits; 1 HS credit
This course is taught by a CHHS faculty member and will meet at CHHS for one term. Students will take EDUC 200 through Richard Bland College and will earn two college credits and one high school credit upon successful completion. The course provides an overview of the teaching profession, including lesson planning, current educational research, parental involvement, classroom assessments, effective classroom environment, and Virginia's Standards of Learning. Students will also gain an understanding of professional requirements such as PRAXIS and certification. Students considering teaching as a career are encouraged to take this course. There is a required internship at a Colonial Heights elementary or middle school. Students will need to provide their own transportation to the internship placement.
Introduction to Business

This course presents elementary concepts in the major areas of business. Students learn how businesses function, the institutions of business, and the relationships of business and government. The course introduces students to various business careers. th
