Asynchronous Learning Fridays-

Summer school classes cover a great deal of material over a short period of time; consequently, students must study outside of class.  Approximately one week’s study in the regular school year is covered each day of summer school.  Students are required to complete work independently and turn it in on asynchronous learning days.  No late work will be accepted.

Students should practice good behavior at all times. All CHHS rules apply during summer school.  At the first class session, the instructor will provide students with information about class behavior expectations. Referrals will not be used; rather, students who cannot behave will be sent to the office for Parent/Guardian pick up and an absence will be recorded for that day.  Students that earn 3 absences will be withdrawn and an F will be recorded.  If behavior warrants suspension or expulsion, the student will be removed from the summer school program immediately and an F will be recorded.

Dress Code

Summer school adheres to the same dress code as Colonial Heights High School during the regular school year. (i.e. No hats/hoods, yoga pants, shorts and skirts shorter than finger-tip length, midriff tops, muscle shirts, inappropriate t-shirts, spaghetti straps and tube tops, sagging pants and shorts, bandanas, and chains,  etc.)

School-issued chromebooks should be fully charged and accompany students daily.  The technology agreement from the past school year is in full effect.

Tuition is being covered by Colonial Heights Public Schools.  It is imperative that you are fully committed to the rules and times of summer school.  Spaces are limited and will operate on a first come, first serve basis.  If you have questions regarding summer school, please contact Ms. Theresa Fleming at [email protected] or 804.524.3405.

Transportation will be provided by the division.  However, this needs to be indicated on the enrollment form.

A bag breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge for all students
