Students and staff did a great job transitioning back to school. Now that we are a month into the school year, I think there is a comfort level in routine and structure. Seniors are placing cap and gown orders with Herff Jones during lunches on October 3rd, 4th, and 10th. Information was sent home with senior students. Seniors will also be taking their White Bank class picture on Friday, October 6th, directly after school. Our junior students met with Herff Jones, as well, to discuss class rings and the ordering process for those.
Interims will be distributed on Thursday, October 5th. This lines up with Parent/Teacher Conferences from 4-7 on October 9th. The night can be a long one, so we appreciate visits. The staff also appreciates our PTSO who treats us to a pretty awesome meal to carry us through.
Writing of PTSO, Homecoming week events begin on Monday, October 9th. There are spirit-filled activities with dress-up themes. We have a lot of fun, but we also make sure we are school appropriate. The annual Powderpuff game is 4:00 on Thursday, October 10th. There is an admissions fee, but all the money raised goes toward the classes. The school will be enveloped in red, white, and navy on Friday.
Students get exceptionally festive as we hold another pep rally and crown our Homecoming King candidate. The Homecoming Game is that night. You will want to come early, so you can catch a glimpse of our queen and princess candidates. Our queen will be crowned at half-time. The PTSO-sponsored Homecoming Dance is from 7:30-11:00. Here's to fall and another great school month!
